Boston Celtics Point Guard Derrick White played a significant role in the team's 105-98 Game 2 victory over the Mavericks in the NBA Finals on Sunday. White finished the game with 18 points, shooting 6-15 from the field, 4-10 from beyond the arc, and 2-2 from the free throw line. He also contributed five rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
White's performance was particularly impressive considering that he was playing in just his second NBA Finals game. The 28-year-old guard was acquired by the Celtics in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs in February 2022 and has quickly become a key contributor to the team's success.
In the Celtics' Game 1 victory over the Mavericks, White scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. He is averaging 14.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in the Finals so far.
