France: Three-Day Strike at Airports in May
Massive flight cancellations expected
75% of flights at Orly, 65% at Charles de Gaulle to be affected
A three-day strike by air traffic controllers in France is expected to cause major disruptions at airports in Paris and other parts of the country from May 9 to 11. The strike, called by the SNCTA, the main union representing air traffic controllers, is in protest over working conditions and pay.
Air France has already announced that it will cancel 75% of its flights at Orly Airport and 65% of its flights at Charles de Gaulle Airport on May 9. Other airlines are expected to make similar announcements in the coming days.
Passengers who are scheduled to fly during the strike period are advised to contact their airline to check the status of their flight. They should also be prepared for delays and cancellations.
